Solid waste management, or the lack thereof is becoming a bigger and more apparent problem in the urban and peri urban areas of Ghana. This fact sheet seeks to assess the solid waste disposal situation in Ghana and to identify prospects for improvement focusing on remediation of dumpsites and sanitary landfills. It described the magnitude of the problem, gives and overview of the current situation and it analyses the knowledge gaps.
