It is with great pleasure that I can announce, on behalf of the Supervisory Board, that Patrick Moriarty has been appointed as the new CEO of IRC starting 1 September 2013.
As IRC is setting out a new course with the current Business Plan, taking a more pro-active role in the provision of sustainable WASH services, this is the right moment to appoint a CEO from the sector.
“IRC has started working more intensively in a reduced number of focus countries to become an active sector actor in tackling the challenges to service delivery. And to develop and lead large programmes aimed at innovating and piloting sector change”.
Patrick Moriarty will take over from Nico Terra who has been leading IRC over the past 4 years, instigating this new course for IRC and providing a solid funding base to change direction.
The Board has great confidence in Patrick Moriarty leading IRC the coming years and to achieve the goals as set out in the new Business Plan. Patrick Moriarty has been working for IRC for more than 10 years and is currently Director of the Triple-S project on Sustainable Services at Scale. He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of the sector.
“From a total of 21 applicants from all over the world, Patrick came out as the one that fitted the profile the best. An external assessment confirmed our choice”.
The Board wants to thank Nico Terra for his excellent work over the past 4 years. We wish Patrick Moriarty well in his new role as CEO.
