The outgoing Minister for Water Resources Works and Housing,Hon.Alban Babgin has officially launched the IRC Ghana office on 3rd February 2011.

The Minister acknowledged the contribution of IRC in the WASH sector of Ghana, especially the area of knowledge management. The occasion was also used to bid farewell to Dr. Patrick Moriarty, the ex-country Director for IRC Ghana. Mrs. Vida Duti, who takes over from Patrick as Country Director expressed appreciation and encouraged all stakeholders present to continue to support IRC activities in Ghana.

The event was preceded by a visit from the members of the Board of Directors of IRC international, Dr.Nicco Terra, chairman of the   supervisory board Lodewijk de Waal and another member of the board Hans Van Dorde who took a trip to Akatsi in the Volta Region to check on the project sites.
Also present from IRC  international were Joost Brokamp and Angela Broek. The launch was well attended by major stakeholders in the WASH sector of Ghana.
