At the 14th MOLE Conference in 2003, the Water and Sanitation Coalition of NGOs (CONIWAS) was set up. The Goal of the Coalition is to present one voice of NGOs in the water and sanitation sub-sector to feed into policies and guidelines both nationally, and globally and to remove barriers and promote access to potable water, safe sanitation and improved hygiene for the poor and vulnerable. One of its main activities it the organisation of the Annual Mole Conference, where stakeholders from the water and sanitation sector meet to discuss sector related topics.
